I’ve gotta be back at work on Monday now so my plans have to be changed. I was originally gonna do Arches, Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon North, and Zion. Now I only have time for Zion. So, who has some suggestions for where to camp near Zion and what are some must see things in the park? I already plan on doing the Angels Landing hike and otherwise my plan was just to be a tourist and drive/walk around. I’ll basically just have a half day Saturday and half day Sunday to spend there. Which sucks, but such is life. I’ll have to make another trip for the other stuff some day...

And of course the Ac in my Subaru has sprung a leak so I’ll be driving home nice and warm too. But my motto in life is “don’t get stressed” so I’ll just enjoy what I can and make the best of it.

well for one , ya best call ahead to check on angels landing

https://www.ksl.com/article/46386084/angels-landing-to-reopen-zion-mount-carmel-highway-to-temporarily- close

sucks about that

the other thing is there isnt a lot of camping in zion. well there is, but its likely to be full and there isnt much in Springdale . you could hope for a cheap room in hurricane, or do zion and camp near kanab or something.

expedia says hurricane is 60% booked, which means finding camping will be tough. there used to be a few decent free sites but they closed a lot down for some reason.

If you get a warm day walk The  Narrows and try to go at least a mile or 2 upstream...the further you go the better it gets. And stop and get some good water shoes or hiking sandals

If you hike Angel’s Landing, bring spare underwear and wear your brown pants.

Yeah Angels Landing is closed so my plan is the narrows unless Park Ranger I ask says there is a flash flood chance of any sort. My hiking boots and wool socks can handle water no problem and I can let them dry for a few days.

Haha good thing you mentioned this. Yeah its closed which sucks. I think I will hike the narrows instead. So long as the water levels are safe. There's a a BLM campground nearby that I'm gonna check out. If there's no space I'll check the others in the area and last resort will be some airbnbs in the area listing around $50 a night that are 30 minutes away.

Water levels should be pretty low right now. Id give you more hik e advice but truthfully I’m only ever in Zion for kids hikes   or technical slots so I don’t have a lot of good beta for anything else.

Best of luck
